So it is officially, 6 weeks and 4 days till my due date and we are getting more anxious every day. We are not even close to being ready for the baby to be here. We only have a few outfits, cloth diapers, 2 packages of wipes, powder, lotion & 4 binky's. We don't even have a bed or carseat, yet. Nana is going to get the crib when she arrives here in Cali. on November 2nd and I believe my mom is getting the carseat, when she gets here as well. We have NEVER been so unprepared. I am afraid the baby is coming early.
So, I am here asking you what are the necessities you needed/got before your baby was here?

Well if you plan on traveling home from the hospital you will have to have a carseat. Have you tried the Health Department? I know ours gives them out free.

Other than that and CDs, you dont 'NEED' anything.
I breastfed so I didnt need bottles, then we co slept so we didnt need a crib. Cloth diapers, and cloth wipes cut down on cost too.
I never used baby powder unless it was the liquid kind.
LMK if you need any baby Qs and Ill see what I can dig up.
with my second dd we had a carseat, cloth diapers and a few sleepers that didnt fit bc she was tiny like my first. All you "really" need is a carseat though bc we got tons of shirts, socks and diapers at the hospital:)
Baby "soap" or shampoo? We use Dove Sensitive on the whole family (not on baby's face). Um.. I cant think of much else that other pp havent mentioned.. Stock your pantry. ;)
Thanks ladies! We actually bought a Britax carseat that was clearanced at Target a month or so back and we were going to use that for the baby but read a little more about it and realized it probably wouldn't be best to put the infant in the Britax and since our daughters carseat had just expired we chose to use the Britax for her until the baby gets old enough to use it.
But for the time being we need a baby seat. The carseat will come, even if my husband has to leave the hospital to get one. So no worries on that one!

We have the GMD green stitch diapers,one size up from newborn but I was in desperate need of the Orange GMD's and when they would come up they were snatched immediately. I've still had no luck!
What kind do you have?
When my dd was born we were so unprepared! She was 3 weeks early and I was a young first timer not even thinking her coming early was possible. We didn't have a carseat, take home outfit, and we hadn't really settled on a name yet either! DH went out and got the carseat and takehome outfit the day we left the hospital and we settled on a name while I was in labor talking to dh's sister on the phone, lol. I can't wait to see pics of your new lo!

I just have some some fitteds. Do you use fitteds? They aren't extremely nice and fancy or expensive brands. PM me and LMK if you're interested.
